Q&A with Sydney Kremer, StuCo Artist!

As the COVID-19 quarantine continues, many are turning to their creative passions. Not only is art a great way of expressing yourself, it makes a great gift. Today, we spotlight one of the incredibly talented artists in our Mount Carmel Academy family!
Sydney Kremer, a Student Council Artist and sophomore as of the 2019-2020 school year, recently created paintings for her senior friends. These paintings displayed the senior’s respective college that she will be attending next school year. What a great idea! We are proud of you, Sydney!
Q: When did you first get started with art?
A: I have always been interested in art for as long as I can remember. I really started to become serious about it in middle school when I was able to learn about new techniques and mediums in my art class.
Q: How can art be a great gift to someone?
A: I believe that art is a great gift for someone to give to others. Artists are able to personalize gifts to reflect the recipient’s likes or memorialize a special event in their life. Art is unique, one of a kind, sparks feelings of happiness, or may bring back a memory when looking at the piece of work. It conveys my passion for art to people that I am close to.
Q: How do you incorporate art into your classes?
A: I try to incorporate art into my classes whenever I can even if it is just taking handwritten notes up a notch. I also use art in my projects as a way to be more creative.
