On Tuesday, March 19, the Mount Carmel softball team celebrated the senior players, Addy Grundmeyer, Ashley Ortiz, and Madison Savarese, and their commitment to the team over the past couple of years. For the senior game, the cubs played Chapelle High School and won with a complete shutout. Although the game only lasted two innings, the cubs celebrated with a victory of 15-0, with a big thanks to our two seniors Ashley Ortiz and Madison Savarese for hitting two home runs!

After the game was over, the team congratulated the seniors’ commitment to the team by gifting them with flowers and gifts for them to take to college. The end of the game brought many emotions upon the seniors. For Madison Savarese, the game was special for her because it was long awaited and celebrated with her teammates. She stated, “It was special to me because I got to spend it with my amazing team. I can not believe it happened so fast like in the blink of an eye. I remember being a freshman at a senior game and saying that I could not wait for it to be mine. It finally came and I got to spend it with the best teammates that anyone could ask for. I am so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my senior year with them and make it so special!”

Thank you to Addy, Ashley, and Madison for dedicating your time to the softball team for the past five years! Echoes wishes you all the best for your first year of college next year!
