Time to De-Stress!

Isabella Wollfarth

Recently, we all (excluding the seniors) took the ACT and I know it was not something we would have chosen willingly. Inspired by this, I wanted to write about some ways we all could anti-stress.

1.) FACE MASK!!! I literally cannot elaborate enough on how much these are needed. I just found some new face mask brands that are really awesome for all skin types. They are called I’M REAL from this brand called TONY MOLY and I love them. I recommend red wine and avocado.

2.) MAKE MUG DESSERTS. I am not sure if everyone knows about this, but I discovered how to make
various foods all in mugs and it is delicious and stress-free.

I just searched on YouTube how to make them and I found a video to watch and learn, or you can also look at my directions I got from the video.

One of my favorites is the chocolate chip cookie one so if you are interested, here is the video, with the directions below:

  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • Chocolate chips

  • Put it all in mug that is microwave safe
  • Mix all ingredients together until it is doughy
  • Can add additional chocolate chips after all is mixed if desired
  • Put the mug in the microwave for 45 seconds at 700 watts

3.) LISTEN TO MUSIC. Sometimes I think it helps stress to tune out and just listen to some music. Any genre
could be good for this. Just something to make you feel better.

4.) WATCH A NEW MOVIE. I feel like watching movies is my biggest stress reliever because I can just put all my
worries away and focus on this random fictional character, well unless you want to watch a documentary. Living in someone else’s world for an hour or two sometimes helps relieve your stress and just enjoy a story.

Some of my favorite movies if you are looking to watch are: The Karate Kid (newest one), IT (horror movie – very scary, but very good) and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

5.) SLEEP! I think we forget that this really is the most important thing in our lives. People need on average 7-8 hours of sleep. A good nap for me can definitely take away the stress after a long day. Maybe one day after you’ve finished all your homework you can take a nice long nap.

So, these are five ways to relieve your stress this week. I hope whenever you are stressed you can turn to these options and relieve that unwanted stress. There are many more ways to relieve stress like camomile tea or taking a walk, but these are in particular my favorites. I hope I could help! Enjoy your future stress-free lives.
